I dropped by Cat Socrates located at 3rd level, Bras Basah Complex today to do some Christmas shopping at this bookstore cum cafe. It's a lifestyle store, a retail concept that i favour the most. This store has aplenty of dollgifts, a wide range of paper products, cool-looking accessories and a little cafe to relax with drinks. The shop name 'Cat Socrates' is named after the owners' well-loved pet cat in Shanghai.
I must say one must be prepared to burn a hole in your pocket once you enter this shop, simply because there are too many things to buy!!! You will be spoilt for choice on the wide range of paper products to get and i have to leave the shop reluctantly after i have gotten all the stuff that i found.
Before departing, i asked for permission to take photos which is what I do most of the time. I always get being asked on how I managed to snap photos at such cafes or other places. Well, i guess you just have to try asking. If you happen to patronise their stuff, the more they even shouldn’t say no to your snapping request.
Cat Socrates carries a variety of tin toys, CDs, tote bags, notebooks, stationery and other zakka, with a tiny corner cafe that serves coffee (for like only 6 people).
I bought this small 'camera' themed printed notebook from Cat Socrates as it comes in handy on the road if i need to jot down any important information. It costs S$3.95.
