Watching lanterns is one of the most important celebrations on 元宵节. The lantern would first take off in one large group – would spread out with the wind – some hovering, then fading as the flame within them would burn out and disappear into the night. Since young, i have always been very fascinated by the different colours of chinese lanterns, they are just too colourful.
Happened to spot a non-Chinese kid learning how to do a paper lantern. She seemed to be very enthuastic about the whole learning process.
