Good news again! A happy start to a great weekend! One of my photos taken at Yangshuo 阳朔 in China, a trip travelled back then in January 2011 (exactly 2 years ago) is being published again in the latest January 2013 Issue of Digital Camera Magazine, the popular leading monthly photography magazine in all major bookstores in Singapore and Malaysia!
The category released for publication in this magazine issue is "Your Mission - Black and White Landscape". It was again a very good chance to see it in print nationwide, yippee ! :-)
"Your Mission" is a monthly photography mission / theme released by the Digital Camera Magazine Editoral Team and the mission announced back then was "Black and White Landscape". The challenge of capturing a stunning black and white landscape. One of the best aspects of shooting without colour is that you don't need to wait for the golden hour. In fact, you can shoot on a bleak day and still get great results. Removing the colour from the image exaggerates the tones and makes the image all about texture and granularity. Flat blue skies in an image can appear a little bit boring, so keep an eye out for some clouds. Wait for complementary shapes to form and use them as backdrop.
Special Thanks to the Editorial Team of Digital Camera Magazine for publishing my photo in this month's magazine category theme relating to "Black and White Landscape". You have again made my day at the start of a new year! :-)
