I was particularly excited yesterday, as my friend and i arranged to go to the NATAS Travel Fair. This twice a year event brings together the finest travel specialists, tour operators and national tourist organizations in one roof to offer their popular and unique holiday packages – at discounted price. Truth be told though, I really did not expect to get something big (like a tour with price tag of above S$500). All I wanted to do was look around for ideas on an interesting new regional destination and maybe book for resort accommodations for two planned beach holidays this year. A dragon line of public visitors was queuing to buy ticket to enter the fair! NATAS Fair was located at Singapore Expo Hall 4 & 5 and its main entrance to ticketing booth was inside Hall 4. We each paid S$4 for a one-time admission fee (used to be only S$2 entry fee). The rush of visitors had never stopped throughout the day (as long as we were there for more than 4 hours). Well, the main purpose of majority here was to get the best deal at lowest price as a way to save cost....
We finally managed to get a good deal of a 4D3N package at Koh Samui Beach Resort, Thailand after all the hours spent sourcing for the best beach holiday deal. I have been wanting to go to Koh Samui as it's one of the most sought-after beach destinations by most Asians. I honestly can't wait to go to Koh Samui in early June.....

The first Chingay Parade started in 1973. It was initially meant to replace the Chinese New Year firecrackers which was banned in 1972. Now, the parade has evolved and become an internationally acclaimed multi-cultural festive event for all of us in Singapore. It includes performers from other Asian countries as well.
This year, there are 10 Chingay 2011 floats spanning the heartlands with their magnificent displays, dances and music. Bishan (the estate that i am currently staying in) happens to be one of the heartlands to be graced with thrilling fringe events, magic shows, acrobatics, cultural performances by the Chinese, Malay, Indian and also the international groups. Below are some pics that i have captured in the midst of welcoming the float entourage at Bishan !! Entertaining is one of life's greatest pleasures. When the gathering is with some nice long-time friends, it's like icing on a cake - a sweet and an extra treat. Got cordially invited to Teresa's house for steamboat last night and the dinner was such a yummy and warm gathering for her, me, Ivy, Ee Lin and Michael !!
Ivy & i arranged to meet up with Teresa first in the late afternoon for groceries shopping at the Cold Storage, Bukit Timah Plaza. That's the nearest supermarket located near her place at Bukit Batok. Instead of helping to provide ideas or opinions on how the feast to be prepared, i ended up taking random shots in the supermarket while Ivy & Teresa were busy sourcing for the best food. They didn't mind though, as after all, they know i love photographing. Below are some pics of what i have snapped at the Cold Storage supermarket. Yesterday was an annual CNY gathering for a group of friends - this year it's Megan's turn to host the annual CNY Open House / Gambling party at her brand new house !!
