10 years ago, I hit PUBLISH and my life changed. Today I am celebrating my 10th year blog anniversary, i.e. blogiversary and I am feeling a bit emotional. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, I am not able to celebrate this special milestone with an overseas trip. Instead, I decided to virtually connect and reflect on what it means to have dreams and values which they continue to shape my path. I cannot believe how much I have learned in the last 10 years (and I know everyone says that but it is soooo true). I started this journey with such limited knowledge and only a dream. I set goals for myself that I thought were lofting and have met a few. If I told you all the late nights and hard work that goes into writing this blog, then I think you would agree that it is time to pop the cork on the chilling champagne in the fridge. It has been a W I L D 10 years. Defining success for blogging can be so subjective as it really is a moving target. Some days success is writing and publishing a blog post, some days success is not deleting my blog etc. But success is constantly changing and that has been the greatest learning since I began my blog 10 years ago. My greatest learning has been the importance of accepting myself. Of being proud of what I put out there, of the message I send and of the brand I am creating. I have found my rhythm and style, and blogging has become part of my routine. My original purpose in blogging still hold, and I have personally benefited and grown as a result.
Each post is like sending a message in a bottle – there are no guarantees it will be received, understood or appreciated. To be honest, I still take a deep breath when I hit the publish button as it still feels a bit audacious sending my words off into cyberspace. If you have been along for the whole time, you know the blog has taken many turns…some better than others but all with the true intention of creating content that is authentic and organic. My only concern is that a lot of my original thinking was published before many people were aware of my blog. Because people tend not to read older posts, they are missing out on material I have not repeated. I’m so happy to get to do something I love over the past decade and call it a passion. I’m also grateful to you for your support over the last 10 years. I couldn’t have gotten to where I am without you, so thank you for all your encouragement, comments, likes, shares, and more. It has meant so much to me. Here’s to another 10 years and beyond! Click HERE to read my past blog anniversaries and enjoy :)
