What a fun day yesterday was. I had a pre-birthday celebration with great friends in the morning, followed by a photography shoot at a local Kampong Village and lastly watched a Japanese movie in the evening. Yesterday was all about doing simple things in life that makes me happy and this is definitely the kind of quality life that i am currently leading and hope to spread it around.
My blog post on yesterday shall start from this first - A morning brunch....
My birthday is not till early September but Sijie got a small group of friends together to go celebrate my birthday yesterday. There is no doubt that a birthday celebration with close friends is always being felt warmth, cosy and is appreciated.
Unlike a lot of the later milestone birthdays, most people prefer to celebrate their birthday as if it is the first milestone birthday party of adult life. As you grow older, you'll probably want to approach it as it's like your 21st.
All birthdays are special, but some are more special than others. For adults, these are the milestone birthdays - the ones that make you feel the passage of time. They arrive when it's time for the human body odometer to turn over to the next decade 30, 40, 50 etc.
A photo can tell a 1,000 words. I guess the pictures below will depict the fun times that i had with my friends yesterday over morning brunch !!
Regardless of what theme or format you choose to celebration, birthdays are a great opportunity to indulge in some nostalgia. I have known some of these friends for more than 10 years and it's always a heartwarming session to get together these years, while everyone is pursuing their own dreams / goals everyday. Over the course of years, whenever we get the chance, we''ll come together to catch up and share a meal.
I received another big surprise birthday present from my friends, guess what? It's a Doraemon travel luggage bag!! They are aware that i travel quite often (yes, i'll be on a photography trip soon during my birthday) and needless to say, this bag will definitely serve me very well. The size of this travel bag is enough for stuff to bring along for much travel in Asia or even weekend overseas trips that i have done so on many occassions. Thank you so much for this amazing present, i like it very much :-)
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday than over a great meal and shared with dear friends (Sijie, Christina, Ade, Little En En, Yujie & Meiling) in a lovely setting. You all really made me feel so special. It’s one of those special moments that keeps me awake the whole night feeling extremely thankful and blessed to have such amazing friends. I appreciate all of you very much.
On top of that, the many birthday greetings from friends and loved ones brought such a feeling of joy in my heart and smiles all over my face. Life is good!
My birthday has never really been about getting older for me. Instead i look at them as a reset button. I always like to sit down and look at where i am. I take a little inventory of my life and see where i want to go from here. For now, i definitely want to enjoy more celebrations with all of you in the future. Hope you all have a wonderful day everyday !! Cheers :-)
