What a great week i just had! I don’t remember how old I was when I first started exchanging gifts with my friends, but I remember loving it. I was young, maybe 10 or 11 and with the help of my parents, I would go to the shopping mall and pick out something I thought they would like. Then, one day after school, we would all meet at someone’s home and exchange. It was so much fun, getting and receiving gifts with my friends. That is why I think a Christmas Gift Exchange is a great gift idea for friends to do at Christmas time, especially as we grow older, quality time to spend a festive season with your loved ones and best friends is such a treasure. Gifts with meaning are always the best anyway. While I am quite exhausted this week after all the delicious meals and gift exchange sessions - it was worth it! I shall let the countdown to Christmas begin! My beloved cute nephew and niece finally received their long-awaited Christmas presents from me! Look how happy they were. They just made me feel so warmth with their happy smile.
My Letterboxes' Photos @Haji Lane Featured in Singapore FEMALE Magazine (January 2013 Issue)19/12/2012 Another happy day in this Christmas cheery festive season! Some of my recent 'letterboxes' photos taken at Haji Lane (a hip hop trendy shopping district in Singapore) are being published in the latest monthly Singapore Female Fashion Magazine January 2013 Issue !! Yippee !! The leading fashion magazine has a Fsnapshots section - a monthly wall / page of photos and thoughts - where anyone can send in their photos with a caption relating to fashion, lifestyle, design etc. Special Thanks to The Singapore Female Magazine Editorial Team for publishing my photo in the January 2013 issue. You have made my day! :-)
Please feel free to browse the full photo and story coverage on these beautiful letterboxes snapped at Haji Lane taken just 2 months ago (October) at the below URL, titled "You've Got Mail / Nice Letter Boxes Found at Haji Lane": http://www.jenniferteophotography.com/1/post/2012/10/youve-got-mail-nice-letter-boxes-found-at-haji-lane.html Thank you very much once again for dropping by at my photography blog! :-) There's a little more than two weeks left before Christmas which is still plenty of time for those of you who haven't started doing your holiday shopping. But now is the time - whether you've got all your Christmas presents, some of them or none of them - to start planning for the next stage - getting them all wrapped up. I absolutely love wrapping Christmas presents. Doesn’t matter what the present is, could be a deck of cards or a cashmere sweater. Doesn’t matter who the giftee is, could be my beloved nephew or niece or the anonymous mail carrier. All I need is to have beautiful, whimsical or fanciful papers, tons of scotch tape, decent scissors and stick-on gift tags (I have this style of designing the git tag myself every year and get them printed out to stick on). They were all ready for action - for gifts to wrap and plus time to do so. Good news again! A happy day! Can't wait to share with all of you during this festive christmas season, one of my photos was published again in the latest December 2012 Issue of Digital Camera Magazine, a popular leading monthly photography magazine!
My published photo was taken during a trip at Krabi, Thailand, two years ago back in Year 2010 and i submitted it for the "Your Mission - Seaside-Themed" category released for publication in this magazine issue. It was again a very good chance to see it in print nationwide, yippee ! :-) You know, i love to send Christmas cards every year. I have my own little tradition that I write out cards with heartfelt wishes shortly after Thanksgiving. I do still always send individually bought Christmas cards to a few close friends. I'm kind of traditional, especially for holidays and celebrations. Many people find sending cards are too much of a bother when you can call / text / email / facebook / skype people so easily now. Call me old fashioned, but i still send cards in this growing 'e'-world. I love snowmen, so i usually buy cards with a snowman on them. I take time to pick really nice ones to send out to my friends. Hello to my dear close friends (i am sure you know who you are), i am gonna send out these nice Christmas cards tomorrow, so you should be able to receive it by the mid week. Thanks very much for being my great buddy all these years! Merry Christmas and best wishes for the coming new year! Ho, ho, ho! :-)
Sometimes, Christmas presents come a little early as i just received an early Christmas present from one of my long-time friends, Irene who gave this nice photo essay notebook to me. I like the wording printed on the book, such so inspirational! I am often encouraged by friends and well-wishers to "be myself" and I agreed that this is, no doubt, very good advice. But how do we know what "being ourselves" actually involves?
How do we know which of the many facets of our character constitutes the "real" us? I have often thought that the best way to define a person's character would be to seek out the particular mental or moral attitude in which, when it came upon him / her, he / she felt himself most deeply and intensely active and alive. At such moments, there is a voice inside which speaks and says: 'This is the real me!' How does this work in practice? |
