Less than a year old, this new little addition and a respite from the busy city life in Singapore has popped up in the Farrer Park area, surely proved a delight for all coffee lovers out there. The Little Prince sounds dreamy….The book “The Little Prince” that we know so well, it seems like a fairy tale come true by perhaps stepping foot into the cafe and i am more than inclined to think that the cafe had this intention to lure customers into their place. It is a very young, vibrant place that gives you the youthful feel. And with the name, it is definitely attractive in its very own unique way. This place is always unbelievably busy and lively, it is hard to believe that in such a short time since they were opened they have earned themselves this reputation that people will gladly crowd around to give them their support.
The Little Prince Cafe
Little Prince Cafe takes pride in their work just as much as they pride themselves in delivering superb customer service. It is important how people feel comfortable within the walls of the cafe, with the cafe staff having above all a love and passion for their coffee, food and service.
With an aesthetic sensibility vaguely inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic parable of innocence and exploration, Little Prince Cafe was a winner from the get-go.
The plethora of preschoolers might explain why this French-inspired cafe in Singapore has all the trappings of a 'nursery'. I don’t just mean that it is loaded and chaotic with stuff everywhere – it is and that’s part of its charm – I am talking about the little touches. The small props that make it clear Little Prince identifies with every child. It’s nice to see a cafe that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The cafe's interior is made up with Little Prince gear everywhere, including drawings on the wall in similar style to the illustrations in the book.
I love the murals on the walls are hand-painted by the owner herself!
Everywhere in the cafe, you will see different versions of The Little Prince, in all kinds of languages. Feel free to take one down to read.
I wish i could theorise and write out a blurb about this cafe and its parallels with the book that it’s named after. I know friends who’ve loved this French novella by writer and poet Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
It is a small little cafe with what seems like half inside-seating and half outdoor-seating but the place look very nicely decorated that makes one feel homely when settled down.
I would whole heartedly recommend you going to the Little Prince Cafe with a group of friends for a relaxed sip of coffee, or even just on your own with a book, it is that kind of relaxed airy sweet and cozy place.
