I arrived at 15 MINUTES at about 6.30pm last evening on a Friday and i was like and can't help feeling this way - " WOW, this place is so cool!" 15 Minutes is a lovely and creative cafe located in LaSalle College of the Arts school. The cafe has a mixture of long wooden benches and tables, and high stools and tables, which makes it seem communal and canteen-like. The walls and pillars are covered with cut-outs from magazines and posters, offering a quirky and colorful feel to this interesting cafe. This cafe inside Lasalle College of the Arts has 2 levels: bottom with a bar and the top with a kitchen. You can choose to dine at either. There are more than enough seats around for 100 over people to dine comfortably. Furnitures are mostly wood and they fit in nicely to the arty theme. There are also tables and benches like those of school canteens. Really nostalgic. :-) Although many have had misconceptions over the origins of its name, 15 minutes, a concept cafe located in the Laselle College of the Arts, is actually named after the Andy Warhol quote that “In the future, everybody will be world famous for 15 minutes”. Aiming to provide good food, good design and showcase good art, diners are treated to live performances mostly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Many of us go in search for our 15 minutes of fame in life and apparently you can get your 15 minutes in a newly opened cafe which goes by the name of 15 minutes!! With full length glass windows and simple minimalistic décor, 15 minutes exudes a chic vibe. Separated into two half floors, the lower floor is more for chilling with friends over drinks and good music with a stage for live performances and the bar while the upper half level is where the crowd tucks into the hearty food served in 15 minutes' time! The cafe is nestled within the premises of the modernly funky Lasalle and sports a certain chic and youthful vibe with its soaring windows that offer a view of the edgy campus and of course the stage where you are allowed your 15 minutes of fame! I ordered the Prawn and Mushroom Aglio Olio and my friend, Joanne had the fiery Chicken Thigh! The Prawns were succulent and crunchy, oh my!! Tender is the word for the Chicken Thigh, i took a bit and fell in love with it! It is Spicy but I love it that way. Joanne who had this course went ga-ga over the herb butter rice too. We too ordered the Italian Lychee sode and 2 glasses of white wine to chill our night away! Friends, Food and Fame - The 3Fs required to make it big in life. While it requires a lot of effort to find that elusive 15minutes of fame, this cafe in Lasalle College of Arts school gives you the easy way out. You probably think it's impossible to find good yet affordable food in campuses in Singapore (think Munchie Monkeys). But at 15 Minutes, all your doubts are cleared. This place definitely allow you and your friends to chill and enjoy the night away totally! So please do drop by at the 15 Minutes whenever you can!! :-)
