Yesterday was an annual CNY gathering for a group of friends - this year it's Megan's turn to host the annual CNY Open House / Gambling party at her brand new house !!
Particularly, i like this area of Megan's new house where she displayed a large gallery of photographs in frames that are elegant & in different sizes over the wall (see pic above). This is really an attractive way to infuse any room with warmth. There are some very special moments in our lives, which we could just wish to be arrested forever, so that we could go back in time and relive them whenever we want. Like the time when you get married, or a birthday party, or a special dance, or even during graduation. But we all know that time can never be reversed. So i guess the best way we can achieve this is by capturing these special moments in photo frames !!
After dinner, Megan immediately cleared the dining table very quickly to make room for us to play poker like we did every year. We started off playing Black Jack first. Some after losing much money, they switched to playing "In-Between" - another exciting & 'noisy' game. Look like the Year of Rabbit has started off pretty good for me. I managed to win some money in these 2 games !!!
Traditionally, most non-hardcore gamblers will play some form of gambling during CNY as it is believed that the new year brings in fresh new year and Chinese Blackjack or also known as 21-point or Ban-Luck (Hokkien) is one of the most popular games to be played during the new year.
There were so much of silly jokes & laughter throughout the whole gambling session - these moments & memories will always be wonderfully remembered of & treasured.
Thank you once again to Megan for her great hospitality & also to those who came & joined in the fun (Ivy, Sandy & her hubby, Sharon & her little bubbly Gwen, Constance, Raymond, Caren & her family, Phoebe, OEL & her soon-to-be hubby and many others) who made the 2011 Year of the Rabbit a great start !!! See you all again when we have our CNY gambling do next year ! :-)
