Oh what a night.......I recommended to a group of friends to try out this new recently opened PORN's Thai restaurant branch located at Mount Faber SAFRA. The attendees for this dinner gathering were of the same group that i hanged out with at PORN's first branch located at Liang Seah Street (near Bugis Junction) last year where we had a good birthday celebration for one of the girls (Sandy's). This dinner was such a nice way to fill an entire evening. The decor at the new Mount Faber SAFRA PORN's outlet is homey and somewhat rustic and beautifully vintage-decorated. We had a wonderful time again and enjoyed it very much. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a good meal shared with good friends followed by chill-out drinks. We lingered over multiple Thai dishes, two bottles of wine (we headed to HOSTED On the Patio, a serving modern European cuisine with dining ambience of a suburban home setting located at 991B Alexandra Road after dinner for chill-out drinks) and tottered home hours later. We repleted with good conversation and food, it really felt like a Friday evening had been full to the brim. PORN's (co-owned by Pornsak, a local celebrity compere and his business partner) whose name has created quite a stir since it opened at Liang Seah Street last year, has now decided to take its Thai street fare to the people at the West - Mount Faber SAFRA. Snapped a pic of the menu's second page - It's a Thank You message from Pornsak and his business partner to all Porn's customers. It is an inspiring and movitating message to all who believe in themselves and their dreams. Life holds no promises as to what will come your way. You must search for your own ideals and work towards reaching them. The best measure of Pornsak's and his business partner success lies not in the fact that they have realised their own enterprising dreams. Rather in being themselves, that is seeking self-fulfilment and contentment - they may have inspired the rest of the city to do the same. Here's the pics of dishes that we had for the night: Stuffed chicken wings, Pad Thai, Green Curry Chicken, Olive Rice (missing image due to an 'unforeseen' rushness to try out the rice when being served). The Olive Rice was very fragrant and just had the right balance of rice with the nuts. Yummy! The Green Curry Chicken almost had a lightness that is certainly lacking in a lot of other green curries which taste like they've been made out of a packet that has sat around for months. Of course there is also the must-have Tom Yam Goong that every trip to a Thai eatery must include. You can have the option of seafood or chicken as well and to come in a bowl or hotpot. The portion for each dish was actually quite a small serving than what we expected but surprisingly, with the number of dishes that we ordered, it turned out to be just nice. A meal is never a meal without dessert so we ordered Sticky Rice Mango and Red Ruby to share after the main dishes. The conversation that we had throughout the night and the Thai food (and the wine at HOSTED on the Patio at 991B Alexandra Road, of course!!) were so wonderful that it is a good reminder to me that hanging out with good friends is always a blast !
I just wanted to say thank you very much to the girls for the fantastic night!! It was alot of fun and i could not have asked for a better night !! See you all again for the next meal :-)
