Tsim Sha Tsui has always been known as one of Hong Kong’s major shopping centres. But what if you want to visit a different calibre of shopping mall altogether?
K11 MUSEA is the new cultural-retail destination on Victoria Dockside and neighbouring the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Inspired by ‘A Muse by the Sea’, K11 MUSEA opened its doors in 2019, and with it ushered in a new era of innovative shopping and cultural experiences. Much more than just a place to shop, it celebrates culture, art and design over 10 exquisitely designed floors. K11 MUSEA offers customers an entirely innovative experience. Each of K11 Musea’s floors has a different art focus, spanning street-inspired works through to sculptures and impressionist works. The artworks at K11 MUSEA have been meticulously curated to explore various facets of the notion of mobility, as well as the fast-moving and increasingly interconnected nature of modern society, to inspire cultural experimentation as a creative process.
位于尖沙咀海滨核心地带，毗邻星光大道（Avenue of Stars）的K11 MUSEA，中文名称 “K11人文购物艺术馆”，它的命名是源自古希腊神话的缪斯女神，以 “海边的灵感缪斯（A Muse by the Sea）” 为构想意念，有不少商店均以特色主题进驻 K11 MUSEA 。
At the building’s core is a 35-metre high atrium dubbed Opera Theatre, which features hundreds of lights to spark curiosity and creativity, taking the form of a galaxy or a mysterious body of stars. An organic and root-like sculpture Escalating Climbers weaves skywards over two floors towards the heart of the space, a giant, suspended Gold Ball.
Children are not forgotten, either: Peacock Playground is a lively and colourful attraction perched in the Bohemian Garden comprising custom-designed play equipment including a reclining peahen, a group of peacocks and a nine-metre-tall Papa Peacock, whose flowing tail doubles as a ladder to a six-metre tubular slide. And Donut Playhouse, an oval-shaped structure is home to Donut, a 10-metre-tall giant which is also Hong Kong’s largest indoor slide built inside a shopping complex.
